United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades Counties is excited to announce the rebranding of its United Way Houses to United Way Resiliency Hubs. This strategic transformation reflects a renewed commitment to strengthening families and individuals through comprehensive social service supports both year-round and in times of natural and man-made disasters.
The 17 United Way Resiliency Hubs, strategically located across Lee, Hendry, and Glades Counties, offer a variety of unique services tailored to meet the needs of the communities they serve. These Hubs provide critical health and wellness services, address food insecurity, offer employment skills training and development, and run impactful youth programming. By collaborating with a network of partner agencies, United Way ensures these services are delivered in a holistic and comprehensive manner.
“Renaming our United Way Houses to Resiliency Hubs underscores our dedication to building stronger, more resilient communities,” said Jeannine Joy, President and CEO of United Way of Lee, Hendry, and Glades Counties. “These Hubs not only provide essential services day-to-day but also serve as critical resource centers in times of disruption. We feel that the name change from United Way Houses to United Way Hubs, truly explains the services that have been provided over the past two decades.”
In times of natural disasters such as hurricanes or flooding, United Way Resiliency Hubs will pivot to provide emergency items including food, water, tarps, and other necessary resources through partners such as Lee County Government and American Red Cross. This adaptive capability ensures that the community’s immediate needs are met swiftly and efficiently.
Lead agencies within the United Way Resiliency Hub network include Literacy Council Gulf Coast, Goodwill Industries of Southwest Florida, Community Cooperative, Children’s Advocacy Center, Pine Manor Improvement Association, Interfaith Charities of South Lee, The Heights Center, Lehigh Community Services, Hope Connections, Beacon of Hope, FISH of Sanibel-Captiva, and Jewish Family Services.
The United Way Resiliency Hubs are further supported by an array of United Way programs including United Way 211, information and referral services, the United Way Volunteer Center, VITA tax-assistance, Beesley’s Paw Prints pet therapy, and United Way Gifts in Kind. These programs enhance the support network available to the community, fostering resilience and well-being.
As United Way continues to innovate and adapt to meet the needs of the community, the transformation to Resiliency Hubs marks a significant milestone in its mission to improve lives in Lee, Hendry, and Glades Counties.
